Time to reflect on this fascinating visit to a country that is emerging from many years of military rule. I have tried to record here what I witnessed today, agreed at some length and in some detail but I hope in a way that shows how the Burmese people have accepted their fate and get on with their lives.
There is a long way to go but I for one hope that the extraordinary welcome shown to us, the smiling faces the search for nirvana that bring a calmness and reverence to this country are not destroyed by a head long drive for commercialisation.
