Friday 21st February 2014: GMT + 8hrs China - Hong Kong: Lights Along the Waterfront

Replete, well a bit over actually, after the Cantonese meal we retraced our steps through the tunnel to the waterfront on the Kowloon side for a view across the harbour towards Hong Kong Island and the Star Ferry Terminal.

This, however, was not the end of the evening for we moved on to the Temple Street Night Market renowned as ‘the poor man’s nightclub’, with row after row of brightly lit stalls for an hour of browsing and bargaining for every conceivable souvenir, clothing, leather goods, jewellery and a million other items.

So a dazzling introduction to Hong Kong came to an end but I was up with the lark on Saturday morning – well actually to watch the gambling ship return – for a whole day island tour.
