Thursday 13th February 2014: GMT + 6.5hrs ­ Myanmar: Thanliyn - The Smiling Boy Monks at the Bon Pyan Monastery

This was a short visit to one of the oldest monasteries in Myanmar and built entirely of wood.  Even as we approached the inquisitive boy monks were vying with each other for the best views of our arrival – you can just see a glimpse of their maroon robes behind the bush on the photo.  They soon overcame their shyness and were more then happy to pose for the other photos above.

I particularly like the one of the boy with his begging bowl.  After posing for this picture he set of jauntily in search of alms for his lunch.
