Sunday 16th February 2014: GMT + 8hrs Singapore: A Photographic Exploration This City

Immigration security was extremely tight with all passports and landing cards being checked both to disembark and to return to the ship together with rigorous security checks as well.  The slightest murmur at the security gate prompted a ‘pat-down’ by a polite security officer.

Formalities over I had chosen to take a “scenic tour” and for my first introduction to this city I could not have chosen better since it began with a 30 minute flight on the Singapore Flyer – a bigger replica of the London Eye Ferris Wheel (The Singapore Flyer is 100metres in diameter and at with its highest point some 165metres above the ground) that gave spectacular views over the centre of the city dominated at its heart by the Marina Bay.

The best way of sharing these views with you is using a series of photos attached to short postings to provide a few words of explanation and orientation.

I begin with an evening shot of the impressive Singapore Flyer
