Tuesday 11th March 2014 -10 Hours GMT - Narwiliwili, Kauai, Hawaii, USA: Its Goodnight From A Humpback and Its Goodnight From the Sun

We left Narwiliwili in the early afternoon with some humpback whales enjoying the warm, shallow waters off the island. The one shown in the photo has rolled on to its side and is waving a side fin (Sorry I can’t recall what this fin is called) nonchalantly in the air in a Good Bye Salute perhaps?

The evening ended with another first for me in that I witnessed the ‘green flash’ that occurs just as the sun dips below the horizon.  The third photo was taken a second or so after the green flash – a fiery salute at the end of the day perhaps?
